Memories of Eric Moss

Amberwood Publishing ISBN 0 9513676 3 3 £8-50

Eric Moss had been pointed out to me by my Auntie Alma (Anthony Parsons's wife), whose mother, Daisy had been Eric's cousin. They had both lived in Ascott-Under-Wychwood.

Eric had joined the RAF on the 20th of July 1940 (927023) and became an air gunner in a Blenheim. After many adventures was shot down over North Africa and became a P.O.W. Helped by the Italian resistance he managed to escape and walk to freedom.

I can thoroughly recommend the above book as it contains valuable information on the war effort and what it was like for 'the common man'.

Eric passed away in June of this year so I never got chance to expand on his story. He was, by all accounts a great man.
